How did you come across Vertical Dramas?.
I hesitantly did my first back in the fall of 2023 after I started to see them trickle onto my various social medias. It was the first or second vertical for a handful of familiar faces, the script was incomprehensible, and no one knew what was going on. It was a blast! And here we are! Two years later!
What is your favourite project you have worked on so far?
As a lead, I wrapped one at the beginning October that I am excited about 👀 but I shan't say more in fear of the NDA 🤫 (it'll be on MyDrama)
As a villain, filming "Desserts, Lies, and Love" on GoodShort was a hoot and a half.
What is the craziest thing you have found yourself doing while working on a vertical?
Not particularly crazy, but I have a running photo album in my phone called "Chair Time" of all the times I've been tied to various chairs. They're often times my favorite scenes to shoot because I get to ✨sit✨.
Any funny stories you can share with us?
I have unfortunate aim when it comes to splashing people in the face with drinks and have nailed most of my victims directly in the eyes. And I apologize deeply to all of them.
Who is your unsung hero? Someone in the industry who should get more credit?
I've rewritten this answer five times now because I keep thinking of someone different, but I gotta stick with the tried and true answer of ADs. The whole bunch of them. A good 2nd keeps me sane at the expense of their own sanity. Love y'all.
What do you wish more people knew about verticals?
Everyone is really good at what they do and are very skilled artists. As verticals have garnered more and more attention in the past few months, I've seen some nasty comments from fellow creatives outside the vertical world, and while I completely understand where they are coming from, I hope that people begin to see this new form of media as an opportunity for growth rather than something regressive.
What developments would you like to see in the industry in the year ahead?
I think most people would agree, but more diversity in every way, shape, and form. Gender, sexuality, race, genre, theme, you name it. Which vertical actor would you like to play you in the biopic of your life?
My queen Ashley Davidson because she would make me 100x more entertaining than I am in real life.
