Zelda Kimble
ACTRESS
What do you do in the Vertical Drama industry?
You've probably seen me as comedic side characters in a few different verticals. I've been the spunky assistant many times. I'm known for my reaction faces.
How did you come across Vertical Dramas?
I worked with a bunch of the people behind the scenes (mostly on production and producers) way back in 2021, when I was first starting out in LA. They knew I had a good work ethic, so they would call me up if they needed a minor role filled.
What is your favourite project you have worked on so far?
I had so much fun filming Bye Mr Ex, Your Commander is Calling. The cast was so great to work with, and it was a terrific and very professional production. I also really loved being in My Secret Agent Husband. It's great when verticals get a second season!
Any funny stories you can share with us?
Mark Valeriano would constantly crack all of us up while we were filming Bye Mr Ex. That guy needs to be a lead in a comedy ASAP.
Who is your unsung hero? Someone in the industry who should get more credit?
The background actors! They're on set all the time, and while they may just be a blur in the back of a scene, they still show up to set and make the world of the vertical seem more full! They're hardworking actors, just like the main cast!
What do you wish more people knew about verticals?
It's very slow in the industry right now, especially for people who are not SAG. I got into acting because I liked making people laugh, verticals are just a new way to share stories and create content. They're not lesser art forms because they're filmed quickly and are mostly about romance. Working on verticals has let me continue making acting my career in an unstable industry. I get to do what I love, which is making people happy!
What developments would you like to see in the industry in the year ahead?
We need more LGBT+ verticals! I think this is a perfect platform to explore more types of storytelling in new ways, it's really accessible and I think we could make a difference doing something interesting and unexpected!
What are you most proud of?
I have a lovely community of friends and family who are so supportive of what I do. I feel really lucky to have found creative people who will boost me up, and who I can bounce ideas off of! My friends and I keep talking about writing our own verticals with stories we think are great, so stay tuned for those!
