Mia Blackwood has been reborn into the Fae world as the wife of general Grayson. Thrilled when he takes a mistress, she begs ruthless King Cyril to grant them a divorce. When she then ends up bound to King Cyril through blood magic, their fates intertwine, and both lives are in risk as plots abound at the Fae court.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Well this is very good. As I say in the slides, a lot resting on this. If a fae drama goes big, that will bring in a lot of new viewers and mean everyone gets to wear pointy ears. There was a decent AMO attempt on Dramabox, but this one smashes it out the park

@nicolemattox_ is a Vertical Legend for good reason, and now has a role worthy of her talents. Mia is the antithesis of the vertical heroine - who is either damsel or out for vengeance. Mia has personality, is fearless but vulnerable, teases and constantly confuses the fae with her confidence and joy for life. This has to be one of the best female characters ever on a vertical, someone fully rounded. Plus if you like the Mattox nose crinkle you will not be disappointed :)

And this is by far my favourite role of @jenningsbrower who nails the English accent and regal demeanour of Cyril. Everything is very controlled, even the cadence of his speech, until he starts falling for Mia and lets his guard down with her in private moments

The story moves along swiftly, we have @cartermoczan as weak General Grayson (not sure how he got that title), dithering between Mia and Everly

Poor Everly @ohitschristinaa_ - permanently confused by Mia being so supportive of her affair. Very entertaining watching her get more and more frustrated by it

@richard.rivera50 is super as Alaric

There is a blink and you will miss it @kyrawisely cameo

And then scene stealer extraordinaire @thresa_richardson as Lady Wren who could curdle milk with those looks and is permanently displeased with everything. Dame Maggie Smith territory here

It all looks good, you believe you are in a Fae world, and is darn impressive given vertical timelines and budgets.

But when it comes down to it, it is about the romance, and that is wonderfully done. I saw someone comment that this will be a new comfort watch, and I agree. This is one people will go back to time and again.

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

Finally a great grumpy - sunshine vertical. A lot of the fun is watching sparky Mia always be totally herself, and how she breaks down Cyril's formalities and stubborness with gentle teasing, and risking everything for him. It's so good.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

We have several but Thresa Richardson as Lady Wren steals the show. Ruthless to the core - and dismissive of her daughter for failing to hold Cyril's attention.

😂 Comedy gold:

Lots of giggles - Mia's reaction to meeting Everly, Zephyr stabbing Mia and going 'oopsie', Mia going for a high five and being left hanging by Cyril, Mia's modern expressions befuddling the fae. Also a lot of love for Nicole Mattox's teasing singing dance which is very reminiscent of Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality. This made me so happy.

🎺 Unsung hero:

The team who got this made - this is no mean feat. It is very hard to take risks in vertical dramas - but this team understood the assignment. Fae have been huge in bookselling and on BookTok for years. Beggars belief that there hasn't been a mainstream adaptation yet. But if you are doing it, you have to do it well, and this delivers on every level. No one fumbled the ball. This deserves to go viral, and bring in a whole new audience, and wave of fae verticals.
