Oh this is so good on @mydrama.series
Good script, beautifully shot and leads who can ACT. It is something I have struggled to find recently. Loads of people doing their best but when you find leads with charisma, presence and the ability to make you feel it makes such a difference
Which is what happens here. It is a fairly standard vertical script, no nastiness but we do have kidnapping, drugged drink, contract relationship.
It is elevated because it looks superb and everyone brings their A Game.
@christineoswald is superb as Mia. Instant star, because she makes Mia memorable. It kind of reminds me of the impact Nicole Mattox had in Breaking the Ice. She is that good. Strong, emotional when needed and radiates joy when the character is happy. You feel the happiness through the screen when her son is finally better
Austin Woods brings pedigree and a lot of experience an it shows. Because Jared is complex, fighting inner demons, but also a cocky showboater who has built a facade to deal with the world. Just watch a scene and you will see all the emotions the character goes through, and the way he either chews his lower lip or changes the set of his jaw
Honestly can't praise the leads enough. It's a good script, and brilliant marketing poster but they take to another level. Chemistry. Emotion. Presence
Ably backed up by all the supporting cast especially @baileeminer as Amy - struggling to confirm who played Ron and Robert. Everyone is super.
Plus this is how you film a football vertical, lots of clever shots that make it look like there is a whole team and stadium, when we know vertical budgets don't stretch to this. Very judicial use of AI for the explosion and crowd at the end.
Honestly so impressed with this, and that someone took time and care to compose each shot, to think about the lighting and create beautiful rich images as well as a superb compelling story.

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:
This is how you do enemies to lovers. This pair genuinely do not like each other. No silly nonsense here, 2 people who clash over values, behaviour and refusal to let anyone else in. Which means when they do finally start to talk over a and you can see the barriers come down as they start to understand each other. So good - and made by the brilliant performances.
🦹🏼♂️ Top villain award:
Cheerleader Anna is a minor annoyance, Mia's ex Ron is a huge problem, but actually I think it is Robert and what he covered up and let Jared believe all those years. Think that is going to cause the biggest therapy bill.
😂 Comedy gold:
Anna is loads of fun - some of the facial expressions she pulls, the truly terrifying red hair bow, and her face when Jared makes her pick up the janitor uniform that she threw at Mia. She styles out bending over to pick it up very well btw.
🎺 Unsung hero:
The whole thing looks fantastic – amazing light, frames and shots. There is a moment when Mia & Jared are kissing in the dark on the field, and you can see rainbows from the light on screen. Plus this is a masterclass how with a sleight of hand and clever camera work you can make it feel liked a packed stadium and busy game. Really impressive.
