Well this is rather joyous on Goodshort.
We've been asking for a role reversal vert and this delivers in spades from the moment Haley Lohrli’s Elle turns up chomping on a guitar, dispatches bad guys and is frequently seen toting a gun
Haley is a genius. The whole set up is brilliant and you totally believe she is a bad ass Mafia Boss with a heart
And this is by far Armand Procacci’s best role because he gets to break out the stoical male lead that all vert male stars have to play. He is absolutely hilarious, deadpans where needed, the scene where he asks for a divorce is some of the best comedy delivery ever, and then goes all action hero when needed. I mean he out Goslings the Ryan Gosling with his delivery of the 'I'm just Ken' line
Everyone is super because they have a script to work with, great comedy set ups and fresh ideas on screen
I mean take Ken's mum as an example - dream role in a vert. That scene with the meat cleaver 😆
With just a few lines we know all about her relationship with Carlos
I need to know the actors please, help!
Also the henchmen, Bugsy and Lucky, Donald and the Capones. This is why we need credits
Loved hearing Jersey accents (think I have got that right after 5 mins YouTube research)
And Lindsay Shiner has an amazing ability to just conjour up dollar signs in her eyes when using the cash machine that is her fiancee Ken
It's not perfect. We get a bit lost with the kidnapping bits in the middle, that needed trimming or editing
But overall this is so good. Because it is fun and different and original and joyous

And Haley and Armand. Bravo. Standing ovation. So damn good.
💖 Top swoonworthy moment:
It’s adorable how much Elle falls for Ken - and they are super together
But my fave thing is actually the relationship between Ken’s mum and dad, and their bickering, you just know they love each other deep down really.
🦹🏼♂️ Top villain award:
It’s a toss up between Elle’s stepmother Cecilia and Susan. I have to give it to Susan though for her shameless ability to treat Ken as a cash machine. A chastity deposit? And then plotting with useless Mummy’s boy Frank.
