The Taming Game

starring: LUNA SERANOVA & SHAYNE DAVIS

When Chase, heir to a vast fortune, is asked by his close friend Leo to rein in his unruly younger sister Luna, a game of ‘taming’ begins.

REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Well this is a newer story from @dramabox - Big Brother Leo is worried about wayward younger sister Luna, so asks army buddy Chase to keep an eye on her. Cue Luna doing everything she can to turn the tables on Chase, get her to catch feelings or give up and leave her alone.

Thankfully Luna actually has some spice and backbone, there are reasons for her escapades, and @lunaseranova ensures this is a strong FL who never becomes bratty or weak.

And she meets her match in Chase @thefakeshaynedavis in a dream role where he gets to stride around with dog tags, punch the problems, and growl at Luna not to mess with him . Again this works because we have another lead with presence, who ensures it isn't a one note performance

Also love the two main supporting characters @keegshughes as Liam, who we soon realise is just over protective and actually very proud of his little sister, and Brittney Ayona Clemons as Chloe, who instantly sides with Luna when Liam's true colours are revealed.

There is just a little more thought here, some good lines and great moments. For instance Janet's fear that she may lose her place in the army, and the older vs younger tensions. @renata is amazing, I wanted to know what happened next, did Chase get her discharged?

The tone is a bit confusing, as mentioned we briefly go down the bad girls route, but then it comes back and is much more about the emotions again, and the fact Chase disappears on Luna for a year.

It's a shame, as I think if this had been ironed out, and the banter between the two leads played up even more it would have been a 5 stars, it is close.

But overall this is a great vertical, always good to see a new story, super cast and the two leads ensure it is a must watch.

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

This one gets a bit confused in tone - we do stray into the whole ‘you’ve been a bad girl and need to get punished’ zone, but if you are looking for more of this you will be disappointed, as it then veers back more towards my taste, which is closed doors, and Chase being the only one who sees and sticks up for Luna.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

A few contenders - Janet for pushing Luna into a mirror, Liam for being a total jerk, but I will award it to Stella for setting fire to Luna’s hair. That’s a new one for bullying in verticals.

😂 Comedy gold:

Stella, the Dean and the pina colada flavoured condoms. No contest.

🎺 Unsung hero:

Chloe - because as soon as she realises how much of a jerk Liam is, becomes besties with Luna, and is the one who cheers on all the high jinks and misbehaviour.
