Traded To The Shadow Heir
starring: CASEY SCHRYER & GRIFFIN BLAZI
Daisy’s fiance Leo loans her out to terrifying Mafia don Ethan for a night in order to save his sister Mila from having her hands cut off…
REVIEW
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Well this is original demented fun. With an added edge because @griffin.blazi does Mafia / Crime boss so well. You totally believe that he can control a gang and be completely devoted to Daisy. I don't say this lightly, not everyone playing Mafia bosses have the charisma or range to pull this off.
The main reason this isn't a five star is because Daisy isn't given a huge amount to do. I mean at the beginning she isn't even allowed to walk. Everyone carries her everywhere. Thankfully she is soon allowed to use her legs, and @caseyschryer ensures Daisy is the emotional core of the story. Just wish the writers had beefed up the part
Very upset with @adamsantacruz who does dastardly things here. Crime against fashion with the tucked in jumpers. And crime generally with what the incest and attempted murder
@annie_sullivan15 has loads of fun as Mila, it's a super role and gets to glare at Daisy a lot. Also excellent stunt tumble down the stairs. Joyous end when she goes nuclear
Mrs Ellison's posh veneer soon slips, and she is perhaps the worst of the lot
And all praise to Alex, who is charming and capable throughout, and needs his own spin off story where he falls in love with Daisy's best friend
This is a great example of how you can make an enjoyable vert if you have a slightly more original story, and great cast. It is a bit different this one, there is a real element of mystery and the disappearing scar, and family plots.
It's crazy nonsense, but enjoyable crazy nonsense.
Good work by everyone.
💖 Top swoonworthy moment:
Because Griffin Blazi is so good, Ethan is brilliant, the perfect combination of charismatic, Mafia boss who commands a room, and doesn’t hesitate to take action, but also someone deeply in love with Daisy since he was a child. A lot of great moments, but when he doesn’t hesitate to say he will care for Daisy’s baby whoever the father is stands out. Daisy isn’t given as much to do which is a shame, but is the calm heart at the centre of all the madness, and shines throughout.
🦹🏼♂️ Top villain award:
Never trust a man who tucks his jumper into his trousers. Leo is weak and completely under the thumb of scheming Mila who wants both men, and the business and tells Leo to be a man when he worries hiring a hit man is going too far.
Mrs Ellison though is also a piece of work and really needs to wash her mouth out with some of that language. I am making her top villain because she locked poor Alex in a basement.
😂 Comedy gold:
Mila to all losing it at the end, Leo warning ‘she’s going to pop off’ and then Mila spilling all the secrets. ‘I’m going nuclear’. Always fun when villains turn on each other.
🎺 Unsung hero:
Wonderful, wonderful Alex who takes a bullet for his boss, ships Ethan & Daisy, and even stands up to Mrs Ellison. Very glad Ethan sees and values him, making him best man.
Also hooray for all the engagement party guests who end up becoming shareholders in the business. Long overdue, compensation for all the bystanders to vertical drama drama!
