REVIEW
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
How do you find a good vertical to watch? I am turning more and more to certain production companies and writers that I know will deliver
Which is why I watched this, because it is from writers Bacon Hill Creative.
And it is so good, a proper love story which feels as much as a fairytale as a werewolf drama.
It reminds me of when I read Twilight, the book stood out to me because the characters had conversations that lasted pages, which I loved. It is the same here, Kate and Sebastian have long conversations - it is not just they look at each other and then are 'in love' as in some verts.
My fave bit is seeing characters grow and develop, and you see how both soften towards each other, grow increasingly fond, fall on love and then make the big sacrifice for each other
Faith Orta is so good, Kate is cute, feisty, strong and vulnerable but it is never one note. These are all parts of her personality so she just is. It is so natural and she is just brilliant
As is JT Garcia who does the best wryly fond glance at Kate that then turns into something more as he realizes how important she is to him. He can do reserved without being repressed and can deliver the slightly more out there werewolf lines in a way that you just accept the world and it flows
I can't tell you how good they both are. Everyone else is super as well
Mark Pontarelli making orange look good, and then flipping a switch when he rages at Kate. He has so much screen presence and does a huge amount with a small role
Alina Nastase is superb as Delilah, underplaying it which really works as it shows how secure and assured Delilah is, even when Florian threatens her
Ethan Harrington brings the charm in initial scenes so that you understand why Kate thinks he is a good alternative to Sebastian
And Frederick Duarte is super as Zev, always looking after his Alpha
The whole thing is wonderful, looks stunning with beautiful styling (that 20s look for Kate 💕) and just oozes quality
A lesson to all in how to make a great vertical
💖 Top swoonworthy moment:
The entire thing. Because see the whole relationship develop and grow here, so by the end we totally understand why both are willing to sacrifice everything for the other.
Their nicknames for each other, when Sebastian won’t let go of Kate’s hand, Kate staying up all night on the stairs. There is tenderness and care here. It’s just the best.
🦹🏼♂️ Top villain award:
Xander and Delilah are cruel. But we move into another gear when Florian (the always brilliant Mark Pontarelli) turns up. That orange suit and tie combo is a crime on it’s own. But it turns out he has more planned besides this...
😂 Comedy gold:
Sebastian’s alpha power which can make people voice their innermost thoughts is amusing, and thankfully he is too much of a gentleman to take advantage of it with Kate.
But he does have beautiful eyes...and JT Garcia does manage to explain that his presence can be overwhelming with a straight face. So well done.
🎺 Unsung hero:
Zev who is the perfect Beta, and always so polite when he accidentally interrupts a romantic moment.
