REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Now we are cooking. Hello @atwistofficial

This is glorious OTT chaos and I adored it. Everything I fell in love with about verticals to be honest. The sheer madness. Willingness to laugh at the absurdity of it all but still take it seriously, have villains do dastardly things, and a swoonworthy option lurking in the wings. Oh and none of the nonsense. Apart from poor @mmactuj getting the dirt and ice treatment

Everyone is fabulous
@nicolemattox_ in top form mixing vulnerability with strength, surviving various attempts on her life including death by PENCIL, and really rather enjoying it by the end

@mmactuj is her ever fabulous self, she does unhinged so well, that dress reveal is to die for. And the slightly hysterical giggles. Easy to forget how good she is because she makes it look so easy

Then we have the cutest puppy dog sorry @ericguilmette who does the big eyes and soulful expression and just wants to look after Catherine but she does keep trying to get killed and refuses to use the panic button.

Hope everyone was kept warm after the rain scene. Vertical actors going above and beyond people

But this show belongs to @nick.ritacco I have MISSED evil Nick. It feels like a slow motion reunion with M. There is a reason Nick wins the best villain awards. Look out @felix_merback the king has returned and wants his crown back

Its just GLORIOUS because it is camp and funny but also moves fast, keeps you on your toes and I guarantee you won't see the Shawshank bit at the end coming which is the piece de resistance

It takes the best of old Verticals, yep know this story has been done before, but does it better, with knowing nods and the cast playing into the humour.

It is FUN

I've missed that. All got far too serious and self important

This is what I came for

JOY SCROLLING.

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

Well Eric Guilmette, sorry Thomas, turns up and does his thing, and has puppy dog eyes, and a bunch of flowers, and they make out in the rain. And it all works very well.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

I have MISSED evil Nick Ritacco. My word he is great in this - gagging at the smell of Catherine after she claws her way out of the grave, hurrying up the proposal, feet on the desk at the board, the villain speech. But best of all the end - sequel please!

😂 Comedy gold:

So many moments. Tracy’s dress change from funeral to wedding gown, Catherine’s hand coming out of the grave and the priest waving the bible at her, the use of music to cut out when kisses don’t happen, Walter interrupting another kiss. Catherine pointing out she is blind, not deaf as James and Tracy loudly plot in front of her, Thomas telling Henry he looks well and Catherine’s face.

THANK YOU - I loved and appreciated them all. Lean into the madness.

🎺 Unsung hero:

We have 3 - the shareholders, the poor shareholders who deal with quite a lot of nonsense at the board meetings.

The whole Shawshank thing. Perfection.

And unintentional but the subtitles. I suspect this is AI, but I think it knows what it is doing, as some of the subtitle mistakes are hilarious - separate post incoming.
