Haunted

starring: HALLE FLETCHER & JOSEPH PURCELL

When Raven joins a new school she desperately wants to hide the fact she can see ghosts. This proves a little hard to do when there is a murderer on the loose and bad boy Cade looks like the main suspect…

REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a great solid effort from @inkittcandyjar very watchable but it does feel a little bit like going through the motions (feel free to sing the Buffy song here)

@hallefletcher_ and @josephdavidpurcell are both superb, but we have seen this a lot before. Can we break JP out of high school, and let him show his range? It's a conundrum, if you have found a formula that works, makes sense to stick it, but the story here has potential for more, and wish it could have been extended

Wanted to spend more time with @ben.armstrongg Robbie and @emmareinagel Emily. Robbie in particular deserved a goodbye scene

Would have loved to meet Cade's dad. Where are the police and teachers dealing with a murderer loose at the school?

I know there are time and budget constraints, and clearly these are biting judging by the state of Cade's wardrobe.

Just a little bittersweet feeling of what could have been

It is still a great watch, with moody visuals and strong performances - especially @emmareinagel

I feel like I am being a bit harsh here, just know now good director @somahelmi is and wish she had been given a bit more time or budget. Or both.

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

Candyjar knows how to spin things out, a lot of almost kisses here and lingering looks. It is made by the fact out two leads have great chemistry.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

I can’t tell you who the murderer is, but very well done. Also wish that there was more time to explore this world, meet Cade’s dad, have flashbacks.

😂 Comedy gold:

Ben Armstrong as Robbie is a delight, in particular his joy at finally being able to move something.

🎺 Unsung hero:

The costumes, so appreciated seeing a high school with no primary colours or gingham print, but instead a style return for 90’s grunge.

Also worried about Candyjar’s finances as poor Joseph Purcell has to wear a very holey sweatshirt for a lot of it, that looks like it came from a bin.
