REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐

I chose the song here for a reason. It is all a bit sickly sweet.

I feel torn. On one hand it is wonderful to have a proper family vertical, something any age can watch, no nastiness, fun lines and a cute story. But I don't see why it was made into a vertical. If feels like a Disney Channel or ABC TV movie. The frame isn't really used. There aren't the twists and turns to hook you in.

The pacing is just about there, but you know exactly what will happen, and the performances are very different. @mariolopez and his whole family are great - but they are doing the 'schtick' and that is an acquired taste.

I finished it whilst in line at JFK immigration, something I could watch safely here and not worry that ice cubes or sex toys would suddenly appear

I can see myself watching this with my kids when they were a lot younger. It's well made, zips along and production values are high

However there is plenty of this sort of content on other streamers.

I am intrigued to see how it performs and what everyone else thinks.

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

It is refreshing seeing a positive husband and wife relationship in a vertical here, and there is a sweet, chaste, teen romance.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

It’s all very Disney movie, so the villains aren’t scary here, easy to guess and to be honest lacking drama.

😂 Comedy gold:

Some good lines and moments like the card bouncing off Mario Lopez’s pecs, the gentle laughing at taking his shirt off, the different narrator voices.

🎺 Unsung hero:

Gretch. I did love the recurring joke of how she appears from nowhere. And she did the best job of adding an element of fear when telling the story of the boy who wants inside.
