In Love With The Single Farmer Daddy

starring: LEXI ANGEL & SETH EDEEN

Natalie's conniving grandmother and sister marry her off to a rural farmer, Rhett. He's a single father, looking after a mute daughter, Ellie. Natalie's presence isn't taken kindly, as she is shunned by Ellie and the woman next door.

REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐

Look this story isn't the best, a bit too much bullying, waving around of vibrators (latest thing in verts in the last few months) and shades of banquet hall.

BUT I did watch to the end because of the 3 leads. They are so good. This has always been my point about verts, the cast are phenomenal, creating magical moments that keep the viewers there.

And this is the case here with vert stars old and new

I think this is one of @lexiangel_ first leads and she should get loads more from this. She has heart, builds the bond with her new family and has dignity dealing with all the troublemakers. She lights up on screen and is super.

@charingdraper is an amazing find, just wow. So good, and wonderfully expressive. She transforms from meek and subdued to confident and happy, and is yet another example of the amazing talent we have in Verticals

Why hasn't anyone made a Spy Kids type vertical yet? Needs to happen

@aedinwaldorf and @therealjacksnyder are good value as gruesome twosome Vanessa and Leon, and @__scotlynn__ brings new meaning to the phrase neighbors from hell as Callie (kind of reminding me of Brooke Shields and the dreaded Glossners in The Middle)

And finally @sethedeen

He has become a vertical drama matinee idol in my eyes. He carries this whole thing. He brings the presence and star quality, but also little nuances in his expressions, how he looks at Natalie and then cares for Ellie.

Look I feel a twit writing this as who am I to talk about acting. I have zero talent here. But as a over opinionated Jen I share anyway

Seth has clearly worked and worked at it, he's stepped up to another level and along with Lexi is the reason I watched to the end

This is why your cast matters so much, they will keep viewers with you.

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

This is carried by the leads, they build a really strong relationship between Natalie and Rhett. Amazing work. Some lovely words with the wedding vows, and Seth Edeen gives excellent hugs.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

Why is evil Grandma so evil? We never find out why she favours Vanessa so much. This bugs me. Did enjoy Vanessa and Jack realising they are stuck in an awful marriage together. Oh and the neighbour from hell, Callie, plus worst school ever.

😂 Comedy gold:

Clearly Rhett can afford a $20 million designer gown as is making savings with his regular Shein hauls. I'm actually oddly fond of the truly terrible Shein ads. In awe of the actors making the lines work. Honestly well done all for getting through it with a straight face.

🎺 Unsung hero:

The NON SNOBBY shop assistant! Hurrah! Nice twist on the vertical trope. Also Charing Draper as Ellie who is brilliant.
