REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Well this is very good on Dramawave. Yes I do have a few issues with Jenna's character but the joy of this is Matt and Jenna are well written, and there is depth to this that it 'made me think' and debate some of her decisions.

And there is a decent chunk of football near the end, was a bit worried this would be a soccer vert in name only, but Gazza sorry Jared Staub gets to show some of his skills near the end. Plus the AI crowd is seamless, very well done.

Jenna is a difficult one, she has this kick ass job, and a fun sense of humor but is also so worried about getting hurt, she hurts Matt a lot, and runs away rather than turning the tables at the end. Thanks to Tess Dinerstein she has all these layers, and it makes for a much more interesting female lead.

It is actually Matt who does all the running, the big gestures, and declaration of love as he has to work v hard to show Jenna he is all in, and gives up all those sponsorship deals for her. Basically going from David Beckham to Harry Kane, a public to private life.

And this is clearly the year of the Staub. And deservedly so. Jared is getting all these roles because he can flit between vulnerable to cocky to commanding with ease.

We have lots of great cameos, including Lottie Guidi the wedding, Rachel Beth Jackson, Sarah Moliski, Sydney Culbertson, Hannah Hueston.

Molly Anderson does her vampy villain thing as Sasha, Buzz Leer gets all the best lines as team owner Arthur, don't mess with his bottom line

And a certain Thomas Pallier is also onscreen as a client

But this is about our leads Jenna and Matt, and a good, well done love story, of two vastly different people coming together, overcoming some challenges and making it work. It simple really, but hard to find in verts sometimes. So huge thanks to Thomas Pallier and @zayowu who are making sure we get these stories

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

Well as we have come to expect from a Pallier - Wu production there is a proper relationship, emotion and also kissing with tongues. Not sure about the last one but anyhoo. And Jared Staub has cornered the market in playboy with a heart and depth, and we can tell Matt is a good in from the moment he tends to Jenna's ankle.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

I should say Stacey or Jenna's ex. But actually Jenna. Because girl you are a PR expert, put up more of a fight for your man, use your brain. Feel she should have been a bit feistier. And telling Matt he has a vortex, especially after everything he has told her about not being seen for who he was. Not happy about that.

😂 Comedy gold:

Arthur has the best lines...

“Zip it. Lord knows we have seen enough of you unzipping it.”

“You keep doing things because of what is between your legs. And our investment is in your actual legs”

🎺 Unsung hero:

Matt's sunglasses. Please tell me that there was either brand sponsorship for them or Jared Staub had a black eye. Never seen so much sunglasses wear.

Also all the mini cameos - John Palmer as the team manager, Rachel Beth Jackson as Matt's sister, Ryan Watson Henderson as Dave, Sarah Moliski and Hannah Hueston as fans.
