After a bad day where she is dumped by her boyfriend and dumped on by her co-workers, Amber's day gets worse when her boss falls from the sky, literally, right on top of her.

Well I started watching this last year but got in a strop with it because we had a 'thin Amber'

The plot point here is Amber gets hit on the head, and then sees herself as thin in the mirror so is then a new confident woman, and that is how she attracts Nathan.

I finally went back to it because I wanted to compare a few of the XL verticals to see how things have evolved.

The ending does rescue it a bit, 'thin' Amber tells Amber to believe in herself more. And the whole project is made by @kthesmoot who is wonderful, and her joy is infectious.

@rileyelizabethdavis is also super as Catherine, and as mentioned my fave bit is their silly fight on the floor

I'm just not sure about the whole story and @realmichaelyi seems uncomfortable throughout.

It's a step forward compared to some of the older XL verticals, the emphasis is that Amber is worthy of love as she is, and needs to believe this herself. So some progress. And thankfully this forward trajectory has continued as even better projects have come out in 2026

So watch for Kelsey Smoot as she is brilliant, and hope to see her in lots more verticals soon.

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

The best bit is that Nathan falls in love with who Amber is - we can see why as she is fun and joyous. Not so sure why Amber falls for Nathan, we aren't told much about him, beyond billionaire. Wish there had been more character development for him.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

Aiden and Catherine are a pair, and we have the expected bullying nonsense. The twist though is that Amber is actually the one being hardest on herself - it sort of works.

😂 Comedy gold:

The fight that Amber imagines between herself and Catherine is hilarious, lying on the floor of the restaurant play slapping each other. Kudos to Kelsey and Riley for going for it here.

🎺 Unsung hero:

Kelsey Smoot who is by far the best thing in this, and carries the story.
