Thank goodness for @dramashorts_official as I was in total despair of finding something new and good to watch
This is brilliant
The set up is famous nutritionist Ellie joins a dating show to find love, and has to choose between 6 bachelors. We slowly learn more about the 4 main candidates, and have a brilliant ending where you are on tenterhooks waiting to see if Ellie does get her happy ever after.
It's new, fresh, we have character development and you genuinely don't know what will happen
Of course everyone is brilliant
Some of my fave scenes with @buinovska_julia
are when Ellie has her talks to the camera and the mask slips, and you are what she really feels. She carries the whole thing
@tkachenko_ua is super as suave CEO Nathan, who perhaps has the most chemistry with Ellie
@rubanbogdan is brilliant as ex Chase - we should hate him but because it is Bogdan he brings the charm and heart, and you end up hoping Chase will become a better person, and has changed for good
@yehor_kozlov is phenomenal as Damon, who is one of the best male characters I have ever seen in a vertical - he feels real, someone who dodges emotion and the hard moments in conversation.
And love @ranzaar as the host of the show who keeps the whole thing moving, but show and vertical. Total superstar
I can't find the other actors, huge apologies
But this is so so great
It did exactly what I need from a vertical, told a great story, kept my attention and made me feel better about life
Just perfection.
💖 Top swoonworthy moment:
I can’t tell you, as it will give away the ending, suffice to say there are moments of connection with everyone, but the end game result will make you very happy.
🦹🏼♂️ Top villain award:
There is none! BECAUSE guess what if you have a great plot you don’t need cardboard cut out villains, slaps etc. Instead every character has flaws, but good points as well - like actual people. Was rather creeped out by the suitor who carved the skull on the wind catcher from his own wisdom teeth though…
😂 Comedy gold:
The reveal with Benjamin is hilarious. As is his determination to watch some Dramashorts on the TV. Oh and Chase just filming the fight between Nathan and Damon rather than intervening.
🎺 Unsung hero:
Everyone is super but I have to give it to our Reality Show host who keeps the whole thing moving along, and combines OTT flourishes with being a confidant and support for Ellie.
