Well thanks to the real life hero that is @elijahvanzanten I can write this review as he has kindly helped me out with fellow cast members.
This is a lovely little treat on @kalostvapp Minishorts
Very sweet, with a meet cute mix up leading to Lydia and Tim getting married and then of course falling in love
@elijahvanzanten is the person to go to if you want a sweet and sensitive leading man, don't know anyone who does that better
And @dominiquerosewaite is super especially as she shows how Lydia is slowly worn down by Samuel's threats and understandably terrified of what he might do. But Lydia is also given stronger moments standing up to workplace bully Michelle. Also CEO firms stop hiring these people. The answer may be to give @jakesciacca better suits. I am guessing Cooper was looking in the wardrobe for an alternative to wear rather than inspecting resumes properly
Lots of other great moments in this vert, as mentioned everything with younger brother Justin, and also Lydia's mum @create_before_you_consume_
The whole meet cute is thanks to Lydia's mum, and she has some super lines when she realizes she may have been slightly overdramatic about the whole being ill thing
Can we also talk about Amy @sophiacherie_
Yes she is the other woman, but thankfully turns on Samuel as he gets more and more obsessed with Lydia. Really liked that she calls him on it and leaves.
Samuel @johnnybazaldua my main question is did you get to keep those glasses? Cos they worked. Styling meant we instantly know who this character it
Also enjoyed seeing new and stunning locations thanks to this being filmed in China, the pool with seats, the rooftop dinner, different mansions
We do go round in circles a bit. Tim has to rescue Lydia at least 3 times. Would have loved Lydia to have had a bit more agency. But all in all this is a sweet, safe vert and one to curl up with on an autumn afternoon and enjoy.
💖 Top swoonworthy moment:
Aw this pair are very cute. Elijah Van Zanten is one of the best at playing a shy, kind CEO who can also throw a good punch when needed. We also have excellent wooing, as Tim doesn’t make his move too soon, instead we have lots of forehead kisses and Lydia left wanting more. Plus I don’t know why but hairdrying is swoonworthy.
🦹🏼♂️ Top villain award:
More interesting writing here with Samuel going down the deep fake AI and revenge porn route, truly terrifying, and it nearly breaks Lydia. Also loving the Patrick Bateman styling with the glasses, hair and suit.
😂 Comedy gold:
What do stylists in China have against Jake Sciacca? He spent all of Catch Me If You Can in a white suit, and all this one in a dreadful double breasted brown suit. Someone give this man a top notch suit please.
🎺 Unsung hero:
Tim’s little brother Justin (Gleb) who basically steals every scene he is in, styles out that made green shorts suit and needs his own spin off series.
