Sometimes sifting through Verticals is like rummaging at a thrift shop. I adore the format but there is a lot of disposable dross out there - but then when you strike gold like here it is so rewarding

This is phenomenal @watchcandyjar raising the bar and proved that you can do an insanely good vampire vertical. Goodbye camp billowing white shirts

From the opening moment at the club this has the grown up vibes of Blade, emotional stakes of Supernatural, mixed with some Buffy style humour from Lily. This feels like a high level network pilot, and I am now impatient for the rest of the season

Everyone is astonishing.

@torikayunedited just IS Scarlett - cool but never forced, confident and vulnerable, and kicks you in the emotional gut in the scene where we find out about Darren

@jared.staub proves he is here for the long run, another smash it out the park performance after Perfect Spiral. To be able to blend cocky confidence with true emotion so well - fully expect these 2 to transcend Verticals and go on to big things

@cameronsomers gets to glower in a Spike full leather trench, and brings a menacing physical threat

Also stunt team take a bow for that fight and air spin

I officially have a thing for @diegoescobarhh who has been brilliant in everything I have seen him in and needs a lead role stat

And @alexinesalmons rounds out the cast with pitch perfect timing as Lily

Huge congrats to director @somahelmi who has achieved miracles here

I honestly can't express how good this is

Performances, story, production value, camera shots, styling, stunts, sizzle every single thing lines up to create a something very special

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

Very very well done - Scarlett and Nick spark off each other brilliantly, you have chemistry and attraction, but also the emotional connection Round of applause for Tori Kay and Jared Staub - this is how you do it folks.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

Cameron Somers brings all the necessary menace as Rowland, with a super moment where Scarlett realises the rules don't hold for him. Plus a top tier fight scene with Nick.

😂 Comedy gold:

Basically all things Lily, who provides the light relief which works perfectly to offset the intensity of the relationship between Nick and Scarlett.

🎺 Unsung hero:

Darren & Lily - shipping this hard. Please can someone give Diego Escobar a lead role ASAP because he is amazing. Also shout out for Scarlett's amazing hair, and the styling throughout, whole thing looks phenomenal.
