Crossing The Line With My Neighbor
starring: JESSICA JACOBY & JACKSON TILLER
After a break-in, Kate stays with her father's dangerous neighbor, Dylan, for protection. Their attraction is undeniable. As danger escalates, they make one rule: don't fall for each other. It's the rule they can't keep.
REVIEW
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Aura. I've been looking for a character with this in verticals. Tommy Shelby has aura
And finally we now have one - thanks to Jackson Tiller and Dylan
It's just everything. The turned up leather jacket. The guns stashed in the oven. Giving Justin a nose job. The presence when he is ripping into all the bullies. The man is a total superstar. We all know it. And this is the level of roles he needs to be getting
Writing this good. Dylan gets some killer lines.
This is what great writing does - it allows all the creatives to move up a gear because they have something solid to work with
Best ever performance by Jessica Jacoby who balances spoilt with reckless with someone desperate to be loved, to a young girl growing in confidence. The scenes where Dylan sees that she wants to be loved and it cuts through to her soul. And the final scenes with her dad. Just chef's kiss
Luca Pietro does so much with a fairly small role, we know exactly who Justin is. Again star quality
Everyone is - I can't find the cast but Jenny, the dad, the bullies and the bestie. All brilliant
Also appreciate the new locations - the houses are stunning, and the modern architecture works much better than that spiral staircase we see so often.
This absolutely sizzles off the screen. There isn't a wasted moment. Everything commands your attention.
It's just a masterclass in making a vertical. And every single one of you deserves scripts this good. That is my wish for everyone
And finally ShorticalTHERE BETTER BE A PART 2
Don't you dare leave it there. I shouted at the screen
Everyone involved thank you so much for a truly superb piece of work
💖 Top swoonworthy moment:
Look we all know I am a closed door person, and one of the reasons is that there is a lot of very bad sex in verticals - stuff that is comedy rather than steamy.
NOT HERE PEOPLE
Dear lord. This is what How To Tame A Silver Fox was trying to be. But without problematic lines.
🦹🏼♂️ Top villain award:
Justin is a weak *ss piece of sh*t, whilst Jenny is one of the most pragmatic and well written vertical villains, taking the money at the end.
😂 Comedy gold:
Some absolute LINES
Luca looking for a bl*w job but getting a nose job courtesy of Dylan & this gem:
“I slept with my neighbour and I liked it. Oh god, that sounds like a Katy Perry song”
🎺 Unsung hero:
Kate’s dad who gets some amazing scenes at the end, from punching out Dylan and then nursing his hand, the tentative truce, and then deciding he needs to be drunk to hear the whole story. So well done, and beautiful scenes with Jessica Jacoby.
Plus this had one of the biggest punch the air ever moments in verticals for me - When Dylan rips apart the college class for all filming Kate’s humilation on their phones, laughing, and doing nothing to stop it.
FINALLY
This has bugged me forever that no one ever calls the bystanders on their stinky behavour
I am willing to crowd fund to get Jackson Tiller as Dylan to turn up in every vertical with this crowd bullying and rip them a new one with stone cold, controlled fury.
THANK YOU
