REVIEW
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Right whoever wrote this at @dramabox_us stand up and take a bow. BRAVO 👏👏👏
Because the writing here is top notch. Lines are polished. Insults are new. Characters are developed. Some super current references to Bezos and co
We have fresh peril - getting trapped in a sauna, the threat of hair tongs
We have a female lead who is the heiress (don't worry no banquet halls) and uses her brains to turn the tables on Duncan and help Jordan
We have one of the best green flag male leads in Jordan Temple for a long time
And a cast that makes the whole thing sing.
@gabriellefaithbrown now needs to be in all the verticals. She is just fabulous, a star is born, memorable and great to watch. This is going to sound simplistic, but she is very likeable and very natural on screen. Which is darn hard to do but what we all want to watch.
I've worked out who @thefakeshaynedavis
reminds me of and it is Michael Douglas and I mean that as the highest compliment, the ability to go from vulnerable to charm to bluster to threat to romance. He is so good in this. Totally elevates the material. Please give this more more great scripts like this
And everyone else around them is great
@doug.jvng who is apparently very good at tennis and is the dodgy tech bro constantly looking for finance for his company
@_vanessabiancaa_ who gets to stomp around as Tamara, and has one of the best moments at the end when she realizes Daddy is renting everything
Would love to know who plays Hal, Greg and the 2 dads.
Really impressed with this. It keeps vertical tropes but has fresh ideas, and is clearly adapted for a more western audience.
This is what I am looking for
Romance ✔️
Chemistry ✔️
Everyone can act ✔️
Great one liners ✔️
All characters have development ✔️
We are getting there
Progress
And a welcome return to decent contact after some of the dross that has been churned out recently.
💖 Top swoonworthy moment:
Proper chemistry here, two characters who risk all for each other, but it has to be when Jordan rushes to save Ingrid from the steam in the sauna. Green flag king who just wants to be loved underneath the easy charm and confidence. So good.
🦹🏼♂️ Top villain award:
We have strong contenders - Tamara who just wants to marry Jordan, Alan desperately getting funding for his AI company - but it has to be Duncan Temple who is willing to throw his own son under the bus, and apparently caused his beloved Jackson to be in a coma (need to now more about the lion hunting accident).
😂 Comedy gold:
So much:
the girl who jumps in the pool in the hope a billionaire will save her
Greg’s wail that he has to be a CEO because he isn’t qualified for anything else
Anything Hal the butler does
Lines like ‘you don’t deserve dewy and even coverage’ (referring to why Ingrid shouldn’t have Chanel foundation); ‘No I can’t take your nude pilates class’; ‘They have sushi sent by Bezos from space’; ‘How did I raise a Bezos and a bozo?’
🎺 Unsung hero:
Ingrid’s butler is the best - I mean he knows when to bring Teddy for a hug!
