REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Well this is a super original vert from an Australian team on @mydrama.series

The Terminator is one of my fave movies so the poster drew me in (Kyle Reese travelling across time for Sarah Connor is one of the greatest romances ever in my book)

But this stands alone and is a really good attempt, with soldier Jayden standing up to his general to protect abused wife Mary. When we have a tragic end, that is when things get interesting as science, serums and perfect soldiers and introduced

The plot twists and turns, with 2 fab bits at the end, with Mary's perfection and then the reveal.

And the cast carry us along

@bridgetdavey_ is brilliant as Mary, she is the emotional heart of the whole thing and keeps you invested. Never becomes too much of a victim and wow the transformation with the perfect bit. She is phenomenal

@roccoforrester delivers everything you need as Jayden, a soldier who chooses emotion, and then desperately fights for the woman he loves. We have some decent fight scenes, and he has some powerful scenes near the end after the stabbing

@michael_shanahan_ is sensational as the General. For goodness sake cast him in more. He seethes off the screen, and physically dominated every scene with just a look, the way he positions his head.

And @chris.combes is superb as the more unhinged Wolf, with some fab spinning kicks, but actually at his best when refusing to accept Jayden is dead.

Everyone does a superb job, and make the slight locations work

It's not perfect. We are on My Drama here so a lot more parading around in underwear than needed. And some bits lost in the edit - the whole paint each other with tar isn't explained

But what it does do is tell a really interesting new story on a miniscule budget and prove that you can tell stories beyond billionaire werewolf romances and create a compelling vertical.

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

Our leads have quite a job here as they have to conjure up pretty instantaneous chemistry and connection between Mary and Jayden, but they manage it. We are straight into life or death circumstances and you believe that they are willing to do anything to save the other. Mary has to remind Jayden who he is, and this pair have to fight to be together. It's a great full on dramatic romance. Thank goodness they get their happy ending…

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

We have two with the General and Wolf and both are brilliant. The General is domineering menace, and his need to assert control over Mary dominates the whole story. But then Wolf is the wild card, more unpredictable but driven by a hatred of Jayden. His refusal to let Jayden die so he can kill his enemy himself tells you everything you need to know. Plus we have a HUGE twist and then reveal at the end... So good.

😂 Comedy gold:

There are some unfortunate continuity errors, Al exterior shots of the house at the end change, the whole smothering with tar isn't explained.

🎺 Unsung hero:

Our poor scientist with a mega big quiff. Has a conscience, saves the day but is not long for this world.
