REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

So yes we are in the body swap era, and this is now one of my faves because of 2 things - adding the spy element which is inspired, and the romance between Blair and Liam which is so good.

@caseyschryer is amazing, I think it helps that Liam's character is the strong, silent type rather than a playboy. But she totally captures that stillness, calm and distance of a reserved male lead, who when he does fall is totally in love with Blair and will do everything to protect her. I think it is my fave ever portrayal in any body swap romance, even eclipsing Samaire Armstrong in Its A Girl Boy Thing who is the template.

@ajozborn is equally brilliant, you always know when he is Blair with the body language and stance, but never makes it too camp or twee. Running out of words, just know he is really really good.

And the best thing is the connection between them - this is a couple that will last. I particularly love the 'holding hands with someone you love helps with pain' moments 💕

This central duo is why I love this vert so much, they are just so so good

@anthony_laurita is great value as stroppy ex Ethan

And @evancamachoofficial is great as Raven, wish we had learnt a bit more about his back story and what happened to his eye

Some of the other bits of the script feel the victim of either the dit or lack of time to flesh out, the whole thing with Gloria comes out of nowhere.

But no matter because this is about the leads, their connection and all the fun moments like trying to pull each other off the bed, and adjusting to life in a normal house.

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

Um Casey Schryer does such a good job as Liam, you crush on the character both as a female and male. But then Blair risks everything to save Liam. It is so good, and I think the best and strongest romance in any body swap I have seen since the movie It’s A Boy Girl Thing.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

Ethan is wonderfully awful, no messing around at the beginning, he always intends to kill Blair for her money. And Anthony Laurita does a good villain strop. I know the big villain at the end is Gloria, but it all felt shoved in at the last minute, and didn’t really work.

😂 Comedy gold:

AJ Osborn in particular is a hoot with some of the mannerisms, especially when choosing that lipstick. To switch from that to then being utterly swoonworthy in the next scene takes skill. And I love Marvin J Edmonds as the poor church clerk who is not convinced by this marriage / relationship.

🎺 Unsung hero:

Great to see Evan Camacho get more to do as Raven - coming and going with spy assignments. I am quite up for the sequel with the death trials…
