REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐

Right Kate Krieger is a goddess. I love her so much as Beth.

Look I am over 40. I have a lot of friends with ex-husbands that make Kyle Colton as Robert look lovely. This is so satisfying to watch.

It is SO GOOD seeing a female character in a vertical stand up for herself, use her brains to turn the tide on her ex and not turn into a mad revenge thriller.

And as a fellow lady boss I very much enjoyed her sticking it to the male board members who dismissed her (I've met a few of them in my time).

And not only that but she gets a truly awesome love interest in racing driver Matthew Bianchi (Teig Sadhana) who rather brilliantly dismisses all judgement of the relationship and is fully invested from the beginning. She gets to have sex and have fun! Revolutionary!

There are some fantastic lines in this about not listening to what other people think, embracing life and the ending is chef's kiss.

Kyle Colton and Rebecca Tarabocchia are great fun as the gruesome twosome.

Kate Krieger now needs to be in all the verticals. She is so good and so natural.

Keen followers will know I flip flop between the male vertical stars, unable to commit. We are now back to being a Teig Sadhana fan account. He is the king of attentive, compassionate male leads with big brown eyes, and has a unique ability to magnify the impact of his female co-stars.

Matthew is a green flag king. The whole storyline with Luca is so well handled & surprisingly nuanced for a vert. He gets to land punches on Robert. Is a 🎾 star. Comes running when Beth rings him. Rides a motorbike and turns up with a baseball bat when he thinks she needs back up. Totally gets her decision at the end. I wish all my divorced friends could meet this character.

They just have a very real relationship that you totally believe.

Why 4 stars?

Well I could have done without some of the slaps. There are a few tonal missteps - the odd choice of the 'love wagon' and 'spry hunks' dance which jar a bit. And it is on GoodShort which meant it it cost too much!

But so worth it because we have a kick ass female lead here who suggests her ex gets an X-ray to find his spine 😆.

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

See this is how you depict a relationship: there is the can’t keep your hands off each other phase, they spend time together having fun, and then support each other through the hard stuff. An actual relationship. Plus Matthew is a Green Flag king, with his f*ck what people think attitude and the way he protects Luca.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

Kyle Colton as Robert does play an excellent heel of an ex-husband, and his mistress Rebecca is equally fun. I do envision these 2 being tied to each other forever, making each other utterly miserable.

😂 Comedy gold:

The hats. OH DEAR LORD the hats. And the fact that an F1 driver is driving a Kia 😂😂😂 And then has a love den in the back that looks like it belongs in Boogie Nights. Still laughing at that one.

🎺 Unsung hero:

The script writer - for handling the Luca storyline so well, and some kick ass lines for Beth as she takes back her power. THANK YOU.
