REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A few weeks ago I sat on a call and had someone ask me 'Doesn't the terrible, terrible acting in verticals bother you?" I think they knew they had put their foot in it from the expression on my face.

It makes me furious. Ok take this. Falling For My Bodyguard is the movie First Daughter wanted to be but ended up being a slightly awkward, gawky muddle.

Because @kyrawisely and @josephdavidpurcell have more talent, charisma and presence in their little fingers than Katie Holmes and Marc Blucas (apologies to them)

This is acting. It's mesmerizing. Everyone is brilliant, grabs hold of your attention and doesn't let you look away.

I am pretty sure this was filmed in 5 days. 5 DAYS.

It looks superb, the stunts are well done, it delivers steam and yearning, bickering banter, chemistry, real moments and is yet another top quality product from @watchcandyjar

Everyone here needs to be in Young Hollywood or whatever the profile rising thing for young stars is these days.

@kyrawisely gets better and better with every role and this is dynamite. To go from teasing to flirting to anger to vulnerability to fear in just a few seconds is astonishing

@josephdavidpurcell brings the charisma and laconical charm, and is given more to do here as William wrestles with his conscience and duty

@sophiesteele
__ is superb as Harmoni's wannabe bestee, bringing a Rayanne level of badass coolness (My So Called Life reference there) - the growl of frustration she does is perfection

And @noahandre_ yet again proves he is one of the most Interesting actors around and one to watch this year.

This is one to hold up to anyone taking a swing at verts.

Watch this and report back to me please.

Because this is some of the very best performances you will see anywhere on any platform or medium.

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

This is how you do yearning. MASTERCLASS. Also bit a spate of vibrators being waved around in verticals for click bait value. Unlike here where is makes sense in the story. Basically the grown ups (Candyjar) have entered the room, and are showing everyone else how to do a steamy romance with off the charts chemisty.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

I don't want to ruin it, but it is very well done, the pair who turn out to be the villians. And well written enough that is makes sense, but Harmoni also says what we all think with casual vertical kidnapping – this is insane. Really well done.

😂 Comedy gold:

None - instead I want to say how much I love a lot of the outfits. NO FRICKING PLAID school uniform in a weird Cher Horowitz cosplay. Thank you Candyjar for dressing teenagers like well teenagers.

🎺 Unsung hero:

I'm going to say Noah Andre, who has quietly become one to watch, and does a lot with a small role here. He has been really savvy with the scripts he is choosing, not leaping at every teen project, meaning he is avoiding the more crass ones, and instead everything he has been in is interesting and a little different.
