This is why Hollywood should be scared. Look at this. Better than the overblown nonsense that was the Bodyguard which cost $25million to make in 1992.
This will have been made on a miniscule budget in about a week. But because we have amazing talent, fricking awesome crew and very smart writing you have yet another quality gem from @app.shorts
@missjcann finds the perfect line between slightly spoilt pop star Mila, who also cares deeply for her loved ones, and is terrified to see how isolated she really is as those around her betray her. And she sings. Annoyingly a bit of ai nonsense done with some of it which is ridiculous given how amazing her natural voice is. She is the pop superstar in this
I've realized @gowatchmyreel reminds me a bit of Liam Neeson, slightly world weary but heart of gold, and will snap into powerful action when needed.
We have the arrival of one of the best baddies in Jaxx @luis_lauro who is phenomenal. Can't tell you how good he is. One of the best scenes is when he snaps at Nix @declanrclifford and we see a real battle for control. Amazing scene from both
Not happy seeing lovely @declanrclifford do bad things but that is acting I guess
everyone gets a character arc and their moment - Dad Louis Lotorto has some really powerful scenes as he wrestles with what he has done
Alexa Castelvecchi as journalist Victoria gets her own story, love her line about I'm low but not that low
And small cameos from @boburroughs as the tabloid editor from hell and @taylordanehower333
To pull together something this enjoyable, and fun is impressive. Very clever sleight of hand here to give the impression of sold out arenas etc
Just shows you don't need million dollar budgets. Perhaps where Hollywood has got a bit lost.
Just lots of good stories, well acted and well made, that suggest enough to allow us to step into that world
It's darn impressive.
💖 Top swoonworthy moment:
Some lovely sass from Mila at the beginning - 'Is bodyguard code for dirty pervert?', but all understandable as we realise she can't trust anyone around her. These two have more chemistry than Whitney and Kevin, and the end epsiode where Mila sings at the club and Logan looks on is perfection. The connection is everything.

Jaxx has to be one of the most malevolent presences in Vertical Dramas – cosplaying as Simon Cowell, encouraging Phoenix to SA her, blackmailing dad, plotting to kill her oh and Al !!!! HE WANTS TO REPLACE ART WITH Al. Point made. Good job writer!
😂 Comedy gold:
Some killer lines - small teen and I are very taken with 'If someone hands you everything on a silver platter, don't sh*t on it' We will be using that (she is 14 now and heard WAY worse at school).
