From Fake Wife to Billionaire’s Love

⭐⭐⭐⭐

For anyone nostalgic for old verticals you will love this, a simple story of a contract marriage that turns to love. This is well written, you get to spend more time with all the characters, and see how Paul grows up, his mum wrestles with what she has done, and Abby decides whether Paul is worth entrusting her heart to.

The fun twist here is although Paul has a scheming ex, the main villain is middle manager bespectacled Travis, reminding me of the butler in Aristocats, who has done his time looking after the family and would like the inheritance now thank you very much

The other enjoyable thing is that this will be a new cast for a lot of viewers, both leads I believe coming from Poland

@patka_franczak holds her own against Paul's family, and manages the tricky vertical female lead dance of being vulnerable but not a victim

And @scoobyyskup is superb as Paul, as I said you see him grow into a man. In what is perhaps a first for a billionaire vertical, he goes and gets a job! Voluntarily! To support his family.

This is a good enjoyable watch, not going to change the world, but welcome way to spend an hour or so on @cherryshortapp

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

Karol Biskup does a brilliant job - Paul is an arrogant screw up at the beginning, and we get a proper journey as he learns to think of others, grows up, gets a job and falls in love with Abby.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

The mum is interesting here, she interferes to ensure Paul gets his inheritance, but then wavers when she sees she is losing influence over her son when he falls for Abby for real. But the real villain is Travis and his jumpers. Finally a CEO’s assistant who has turned!

😂 Comedy gold:

Travis’ giant picture of himself which he wastes no time in installing. Also means we have the very funny moment when he has to take it down and walk out the house with it when his schemes fall apart.

🎺 Unsung hero:

Paul’s dad Logan, who spends a lot of the story getting stressed out by his family and having more heart issues. Poor man. Plus a bittersweet ending.
