⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I'm a bit emosh after watching this. It feels like a return to the golden summer of '24 when I fell in love with verts because they were some of the best romantic comedies out there and before data cycles and humiliation became standard fare.

It is so good. It is perfection. We have romance. We have comedy. We have some of the best ever lines in a vertical. Great story. Connection between leads. Everyone can act. @maggierosehudson has a cute series of hats. It is divine

@maggierosehudson is just the best here, she can trade insults with her step sister, but also barely hold back the tears when she thinks Wes is an escort boy, is trying to be supportive but is devastated

@officialnickolsen wow. What a find. He has the look AND can act. I'm sorry to labor the point but we all know this is not always the case.

Nick is brilliant. He can do the comedy (jumping in the laundry basket), charm, but also always has heart and depth from the scenes with his grandfather to falling in love with Quinn.

The leads are superstars together. Has to be one of my favorite pairings and if there is any justice they will go supersonic this year as will @vicccpags as Regina. She is a ball of energy on screen. Clearly loving having a super script to work with and is a great terrible comedy double act with @elisha.p.davis as George. Just that early scene where she wants George to rescue her from the snow but he 'isn't athletic'

@courtney.l.green Is super as Ingrid, keeps us guessing, maybe she isn't all bad (spoiler she is)

Just details such as when mum stays and picks up the laundry and spots the Chanel shirt

Need to know who the wonderful arch assistant is

And @johnhenryrichardson worryinglu close to death's door again for a vertical plot point, but thankfully recovers to give our leads his blessing

It's just perfection. This could be on a big screen. I want everyone coming to Verticals to watch this. This is why we love them. Just look at that talent here in the writing, performance and getting it all done in about 7 days.

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

Wesley gave up the hotel for Quinn, finds her mum's wedding dress, works out the recipe and want to spend the rest of his life 'earning how you are looking at me right now'.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

George is a cad, Ingrid is as bad as we suspected but this is all about Regina who is a hoot, stomps around, wrestles with Quinn and desperately wants Daddy to love her and be centre of attention at her wedding. Just glorious.

😂 Comedy gold:

So much, the hot sauce on the crotch, hiding in the laundry, the snow scenes, anything Wesley's assistant does But it comes down to the lines. Some of the finest writing ever in a vertical. So many as so quotable…

🎺 Unsung hero:

John Henry Richardson as Grandpa, for knowing best and making his grandson look beyond profits, but then worrying that he is moving to fast. Worth watching just for his 'what' when Wesley tells him that he is engaged.
