REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐

We have two of the biggest stars in verticals right now @cailinpeluso and @noahandre_ reunited again in this teen romance based on a Wattpad bestseller

This is a fan fiction romance written for fans, and it hits all the beats. We do go round and round in circles with the ' I love them but I can't tell them' obstacle. This is actually part of the charm of the books, delivering exactly what readers want, but it doesn't translate quite as well to screen.

We are saved by the leads as Cailin and Noah find ways to build the relationship throughout the vertical despite dialogue going round in circles, and make the progression feel linear. They are both at the stage now where they make it look so easy you forget how good they are. They bring all the feels and are 💯 why you should watch this

@realemiliarose has great fun adding little foot stamps and hair flicks as Gia, @alicialoveread imperious mother thankfully has a change of heart at the end and @andrewj_tong ensures Josh feels like a good viable alternative for Farrah.

We have a good swimming pool rescue that makes sense, not too much nonsense and lots of romance. Teenage me would have absolutely loved this. Good solid project from @reelshortapp

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

The nose thing is adorable. And this is made by our leads, they act their socks off in this and elevate the rather repetitive and I am sorry but trite dialogue. They bring all the emotions.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

Ethan’s mum (Alicia Read) does an excellent swish of her dress and haughty toss of her head as she endlessly tells Farrah ‘she doesn’t belong’ - but the prize goes to pampered princess Gia, who can’t understand why her perfect manicure and Louboutins don’t secure Ethan’s affections.

😂 Comedy gold:

Farrah rigwelted on the floor in that mascot outfit (never thought I would get to use rigwelted in a vertical review). And the rubber ducky swim ring. IYKYK.

🎺 Unsung hero:

Andrew Tong as Josh, who it turns out is brilliant at portraying old money, he looks like he wandered out of Brideshead Revisited here. And the colour yellow. My new obsession. We have a scene near the end where both Andrew and Cailin are in yellow, and they make it look good. That isn’t easy. Lettuce is so 2025. All about the yellow now.
