This is fresh and original entry into the vertical drama market by UK production legends @limepicturestv

There is no wasted time at the beginning as we know from the outset Paige the brilliant @kharlacorley is there to bring down the Rochat family. There is a huge amount of fun watching Paige have to think fast on her feet as she is nearly found out umpteen times, and put on the bambi eyes to convince poor Deveraux that she couldn't possibly be up to no good

Which really made me feel for the fabulous Madeleine @jessicapaul.x who quite rightly slowly gets more and more frustrated when no one believes her, and has an excellent flounce out at the end

Poor Deveraux just wants to cook but is messed around by all the women in his life. The UK has found the vertical drama star it was looking for in @itslukedelaney who brings unexpected pathos to the role. I do wish the script had made Deveraux a little more proactive, I would have loved to see him push back a bit more against his mother when she takes away the dream of running the restaurant from him.

Mainly because then we would have got to see even more of @tamarawall13 in full flow as Grace. If you have been looking for strong female characters in verticals, look no further. The women rule this story. In particular Grace and her rival Hedda @rubysnapewales

I can't tell you how good these two are. I could watch hours more of them going for each other. There is a wonderful reveal, as Grace has been slightly written off as a bit of a lush, but we find out has a steely inner core but managed not to lose her compassion, whilst Hedda reveals she is not quite as composed as she pretends.

I was there for the fireworks at the end, which is compelling stuff. Possibly shows I have watched too many verticals that I wanted the fire rather than everyone being much more sensible and calming the situation.

Also, and this will shock all of you, could have done with a tiny bit more spice. This was very closed door! Yes I know, you are all shocked.

A few tweaks to the script, but overall this is a great vertical that feels NEW. Quality performances, quality production and a quality app in @epis.tv where RIAD is streaming now

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

We have a flawed pair here, both mess things up, but they are also very sweet together. Slight complaint, don’t cheat us of them getting together at the end. I want to see that scene!

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

We have a morally grey heroine, as Paige does a few questionable things whilst trying to avenge the wrongs done to her family. But the real villain is shown at the end, and it is juicy, and worth it.

😂 Comedy gold:

Devereaux pretending to be drunk and knocking all the pans over. Also how many times a point is made that Gloria likes a drink, and lingering shots of her wine glass.

🎺 Unsung hero:

Poor Madeleine, she saw through Paige from the beginning, was right about everything. And Paige MESSED with her booking system. As someone currently organising a big event, that one hurt. Justice for Madeleine. Also I think you can do better than Devereaux love, aim higher.
