REVIEW

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Look this is utter tosh but it is also SOOOOO GOOD.

Throw your brain and logic out the window, and enjoy a brilliantly OTT emotional story, with heart, feelings, stunts, stunning shots and 2 brilliant performances

@ani__nozadze has an incredibly tricky job. In lesser hands Mia could be bratty and unlikeable. Ani makes sure we always feel for Mia, even as she tries to kill Sebastain again and again because she is refusing to be a victim. And she is distraught when she learns the truth, and we see her grow up as she wishes for happiness at the end rather than a star. Honestly bravo, amazing work. And she looks iconic. Every scene.

And then @ryley_schroeder who now has the dubious honor of being one of my fave actors working in the space at the moment. Sorry dude

But he nails action scenes, can do everything needed for emotional scenes, and also knows how to bring the humour when allowed.

And this is a fab role, he gets to have a fight in the alley at night, storm into offices with a rifle to get Rusty's attention, nearly die multiple times, run across fields, and basically be this generations action hero. If he can do an English accent, we have James Bond in our midst.

@xarvefritz is super as Rusty, especially in the final scene when all the resentment spills over

@barretcoates is the best assistant ever as Abel, competent, loyal and always backs up X.

Also huge credit to everyone on this, because it looks phenomenal. Made me wish it was horizontal at times, would be amazing to get wide screen shots when they were running across the fields, or at the final showdown.

Not often you say that about a vertical.

💖 Top swoonworthy moment:

Sebastian still loves Mia after she shoots him, stabs him, tries both again, shoots him, that’s devotion. I think. Let’s not think about it too much. The most swoonworthy moments are actually the forehead kisses. And the end. We like a baby.

🦹🏼‍♂️ Top villain award:

I can’t decide between Rusty and Terry. I’m actually going to go for Rusty as he does steal 5 years from our leads. Terry may be the big bad but turns out he should have had better HR policies as the goons turn rather quickly.

😂 Comedy gold:

Abel’s screensaver is a pic of him and his boss X. Also love the fact he put it in black and white to make it classier.

🎺 Unsung hero:

Abel is a brilliant assistant. But the production design and styling. Ani and Ryley both look phenomenal, that red dress, the floral dresses, the trenchcoat, the cream linen shirt thing. Also that final standoff location. Insane and stunning. Got to be some of the best visual scenes in a vertical. And AURA. We have aura people.
